A positive for developers and builders

Last week the government announced $3.8 billion in infrastructure spending over the next 4 years to help deliver new homes in a ‘timely manner’. This means some of the ‘red tape’ or the extended time the local councils, state governments and federal governments spend approving a project could be significantly reduced.

I have been through this myself with the local council taking 14 months to approve a standard construction that fit the council’s guidelines. This unnecessary delay has cost me an additional $50,000 and all I am building is a duplex.

What does this mean to you? This means developments will be approved and built quicker than they are now to accommodate the demand our rising population is creating. Unless we build a house for every new person that arrives in this country from the moment they arrive, we will always struggle to match the supply to the demand.

Mo Update
I made it to the last week of November without shaving my mo, I honestly didn’t think I would have lasted this long and that’s the reason why I picked a Move goal instead (Run 60 km in November) when signing up. After 3 weeks of meetings, hosting events and just being in public with a crappy mo, I can’t wait for Sunday, so I can shave it off.

What I am proud of is that I have run 50.7km (don’t want short change myself with the 700m) so far and I have another 4 more days to reach 60 km. Coming from someone that wouldn’t even run to the bathroom I am proud of myself to have reached this far in this goal. I have also continued my Crossfit journey.
